A quick and easy Halloween punch made with orange juice, vanilla, and club soda. This kid-friendly drink is naturally sweetened, free of artificial colors, and perfect for parties or spooky movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups orange juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought, no added sugar preferred)
  • 1 cup club soda or sparkling water (chilled)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (or seeds from 1 vanilla bean)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill pitcher or punch bowl)
  • For garnish: orange slices, vanilla bean pods, gummy worms or spider rings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the orange juice and club soda in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before starting.
  2. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine 4 cups orange juice, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Stir gently until well combined.
  3. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness: if needed, add 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup and stir until dissolved. Add more vanilla if desired, a quarter teaspoon at a time.
  4. Just before serving, pour in 1 cup chilled club soda. Stir gently to preserve carbonation.
  5. Fill the pitcher or punch bowl with ice cubes. For a punch bowl, consider making a frozen ice ring with orange slices and gummy worms.
  6. Garnish with orange slices, vanilla bean pods, and gummy worms or spider rings. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use pure vanilla extract instead of imitation. If making ahead, mix the orange juice, vanilla, and lemon juice up to 3 days in advance; add club soda and ice just before serving. The 4:1 ratio of juice to club soda is key to avoid a watery taste. For a spooky effect, freeze gummy worms in ice cubes or make a frozen ice ring using a bundt pan.
