A quick and easy baked salmon recipe featuring a sweet and tangy honey garlic dijon glaze paired with perfectly roasted asparagus. Perfect for busy weeknights and simple, flavorful dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz / 170 g each), skin-on or skinless
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for asparagus)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic until smooth and glossy.
  3. Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and arrange the spears on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle asparagus with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on top of the asparagus.
  6. Brush the honey garlic dijon glaze generously over the salmon fillets, allowing some to drip onto the asparagus.
  7. Season the salmon lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and asparagus is tender with crispy tips.
  9. Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end for a caramelized glaze, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature salmon for even cooking. Mince garlic finely to avoid burning. Do not overcrowd the pan to allow asparagus to roast properly. Optional broil step adds caramelized glaze. Glaze can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for up to two days.
