These fun and easy mummy hot dogs are wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, baked until golden, and finished with mustard eyes. Perfect for Halloween parties, cozy nights in, or a quick weeknight dinner that brings a smile.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • Mustard (yellow or Dijon, for eyes)
  • Ketchup (optional, for dipping)
  • 1–2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into the 8 pre-cut triangles. Place them on a clean cutting board.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a strip of dough around it, starting at one end and working your way to the other. Leave a small gap at the top for the ‘face’ (about 1 inch). Overlap the strips slightly. Repeat with remaining hot dogs.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each one.
  6. Brush each mummy with melted butter using a pastry brush.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed. Let them cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet.
  8. Using a toothpick, dab a tiny amount of mustard onto each mummy’s ‘face’ to create eyes.
  9. Serve immediately with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Keep the dough cold to prevent tearing. For best results, brush with melted butter before baking. If making ahead, assemble up to 2 hours before baking and refrigerate. Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
