A quick, creamy, and savory snack made with turkey slices, whipped cream cheese with herbs, and soft flour tortillas rolled into neat pinwheels. Perfect for lunchboxes, snacks, or light meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 thin turkey slices, preferably low sodium
  • 8 ounces (227 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or dill), finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large (8-inch) soft flour tortillas
  • ½ cup (50 grams) shredded mild cheddar or mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • Optional add-ins: thinly sliced cucumber, bell pepper strips, or baby spinach

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by removing it from the fridge about 15 minutes before starting or microwave for 15 seconds without melting.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped fresh herbs, garlic powder, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Whip until smooth and creamy. Fold in shredded cheese if using.
  3. Lay the flour tortillas flat on a workspace. Warm them for 5 seconds in the microwave wrapped in a damp paper towel if stiff.
  4. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly over each tortilla, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges.
  5. Place turkey slices evenly over the cream cheese layer. Add optional veggies if desired.
  6. Roll each tortilla tightly into a cylinder. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set the shape.
  7. Remove rolls from the fridge, unwrap, and slice into 1-inch thick pinwheels using a sharp knife. Arrange on a plate or pack into lunchboxes.

Notes

Soften cream cheese properly for easy spreading. Roll tortillas tightly but gently to avoid squishing filling. Chill roll-ups before slicing to keep shape intact. Use a sharp knife for clean slices. Customize seasoning with smoked paprika, hot sauce, or different herbs. Can substitute Greek yogurt for cream cheese for a lighter option. Store leftovers wrapped tightly in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
