These Easy Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are a quick, fun, and delicious snack perfect for Halloween parties. Made with just four ingredients, they feature flaky crescent roll dough wrapped around juicy hot dogs, with mustard eyes for a spooky touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8-count) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 beef hot dogs
  • Yellow mustard
  • Ketchup (optional)
  • Cooking spray or melted butter
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated triangle sheets, press the seams together gently to form a solid rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide, using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
  4. Pat the hot dogs dry with a paper towel to help the dough stick.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with 2-3 strips of dough, leaving a small gap at the top for the eyes. Start at one end and work your way up, overlapping the strips slightly. Do not wrap too tightly.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Brush each mummy with melted butter or cooking spray.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Add the eyes using mustard. Dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small circles near the top of each mummy. For extra spookiness, add a tiny dot of ketchup in the center of each mustard eye.
  11. Serve immediately while still warm.

Notes

For best results, let crescent roll dough sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cutting. Do not over-wrap hot dogs; 2-3 strips is perfect. For extra crispy mummies, sprinkle a tiny pinch of salt over the butter before baking. Unbaked mummies can be refrigerated for up to 4 hours or frozen for up to 2 months.
