This easy pumpkin spice popcorn mix is the perfect Halloween party snack. It’s a sweet and salty treat with white chocolate, candy corn, and pretzels, all coated in warm pumpkin spice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups plain popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks or mini pretzels, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup candy corn or autumn mix candy
  • 1/2 cup roasted, salted pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or good-quality white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional)
  • 1/2 cup orange and black sprinkles or Halloween jimmies
  • Extra pumpkin pie spice for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pop your popcorn to yield 12 cups. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, gently toss together the popped popcorn, broken pretzel pieces, candy corn, and pumpkin seeds.
  4. Place the white chocolate melting wafers and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until smooth and glossy.
  5. Whisk the pumpkin pie spice and salt into the melted white chocolate until completely combined.
  6. Pour the melted white chocolate mixture over the popcorn and mix-ins. Use a folding motion with a spatula to coat everything evenly.
  7. Transfer the coated popcorn mixture to the prepared baking sheet and spread it out into an even, single layer. Sprinkle the Halloween sprinkles over the top immediately.
  8. Bake for exactly 5 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the popcorn mix cool completely on the sheet, at least 30 to 45 minutes.
  10. Once completely cool, break into clusters if desired. Just before serving, dust with extra pumpkin pie spice.

Notes

Use popcorn that is at least a day old for best texture. Avoid heavily buttered popcorn. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels and check candy corn ingredients. For dairy-free, use dairy-free white chocolate. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. To revive crunch, spread on a baking sheet and warm in a 300°F oven for 3-5 minutes, then cool completely.
