These turkey and cheese pinwheel wraps are quick, easy, and perfect for lunchboxes. Made with simple ingredients like tortillas, deli turkey, cheese, and a seasoned cream cheese spread, they stay fresh and delicious without getting soggy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito-size, about 10 inches)
  • 8 slices deli turkey breast
  • 8 slices provolone or cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced bell peppers or cucumber (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes or microwaving for 10-15 seconds.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Lay a large flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. Ensure it is at room temperature.
  4. Spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of the tortilla, going all the way to the edges.
  5. Place two slices of turkey on the bottom third of the tortilla, overlapping slightly, and spread evenly across the tortilla.
  6. Place two slices of cheese on top of the turkey, spreading them out evenly.
  7. Starting from the bottom edge, roll the tortilla away from you as tightly as possible without tearing, tucking the filling in as you go. Place seam-side down.
  8. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap or parchment paper, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  9. After chilling, unwrap the roll and place it on a cutting board. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice into 1-inch thick rounds using a gentle sawing motion.
  10. If packing for lunch, stick a toothpick through each pinwheel to secure. Arrange in a single layer in a container. Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Notes

The cream cheese spread acts as a moisture barrier to prevent sogginess. Chilling the rolls for at least 30 minutes is essential for clean slices. For best results, make the rolls the night before and slice in the morning. Uncut rolls stay fresh for up to 4 days in the fridge; cut pinwheels are best within 2 days.
