A fun and easy football-themed charcuterie board featuring creamy guacamole turf, salami goalposts, and crunchy tortilla chips, perfect for game day or late-night snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados, mashed
  • 1 small lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large rectangular serving board or platter
  • Tortilla chips or crackers (preferably multigrain)
  • Optional: sliced cucumber or celery sticks to frame the field
  • About 12 salami slices
  • Toothpicks
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Shredded cheese or thin strips of white cheese
  • Olives or pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the guacamole turf: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe avocados with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth but still creamy. Add lime juice, minced garlic, diced onion, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to combine and adjust seasoning as needed.
  2. Lay out the field base: Place the serving board on the counter. Spread a generous, even layer of guacamole across the middle portion of the board to create the turf. Smooth it out evenly with a spoon or spatula.
  3. Create the goalposts: Fold each salami slice in half lengthwise, then bend the ends upward to form an H shape. Secure the ends with toothpicks so the goalposts stand upright. Make two goalposts, one for each end of the field.
  4. Assemble the board: Place the salami goalposts at opposite ends of the guacamole turf. Arrange tortilla chips or crackers along the sides as sidelines. Add cucumber or celery sticks to frame the board if desired.
  5. Add yard lines and accents: Use thin strips of white cheese or shredded cheese to create yard lines across the guacamole turf. Scatter cherry tomatoes or olives as little players or decorations on the field.

Notes

Use lime juice generously to prevent guacamole browning. If preparing ahead, cover guacamole tightly with plastic wrap pressed onto the surface. Let salami goalposts rest after folding to hold shape better. Replace chips if soggy before serving. Can swap salami for prosciutto or vegan deli slices. Toast chips lightly for extra crunch.
