A quick and easy festive charcuterie board featuring fresh strawberries, blueberries, white cheeses, cured meats, and crunchy accents, perfect for July 4th celebrations or any summer gathering.

Ingredients

  • Fresh strawberries – hulled and halved
  • Blueberries – washed and dried
  • Fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini) – creamy and mild
  • Sharp white cheddar, sliced thin
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Spicy soppressata or pepperoni slices
  • Assorted crackers (buttery and whole grain)
  • Mini baguette slices, toasted lightly
  • Marinated olives (green and black)
  • Roasted almonds or pecans
  • Honey or fig jam
  • Fresh herbs (small sprigs of rosemary or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Hull and halve the strawberries to make them bite-sized. Pat dry gently with paper towels to avoid excess moisture. (About 5 minutes)
  2. Cut the sharp cheddar into thin slices or small cubes. Drain the fresh mozzarella balls and pat them dry to avoid watery spots. (About 5 minutes)
  3. Fold or loosely roll the prosciutto and pepperoni slices to create height and texture on the board. (About 3 minutes)
  4. Fan out the crackers on one side of the board and arrange the toasted baguette slices nearby. (About 2 minutes)
  5. Put the marinated olives and nuts into small bowls or ramekins and nestle them on the board. (About 2 minutes)
  6. Distribute the strawberries, blueberries, fresh mozzarella, and cheddar around the board, alternating colors and textures to keep it visually appealing. (About 5 minutes)
  7. Drizzle honey or place a small bowl of fig jam on the board. Add fresh herb sprigs for fragrance and a pop of green. Give a final look to ensure balance and inviting presentation. (About 3 minutes)

Notes

Start with bowls and larger items first, then fill in gaps with fruits and cheese to create a balanced look. Keep perishable items chilled until just before serving. Blot any fruit juices to avoid sogginess. For a warm element, pan-toast baguette slices with garlic butter before assembling. Swap ingredients for dietary needs such as vegan cheeses or gluten-free crackers.
