These sliders combine tender baked buffalo chicken with soft slider buns and a creamy blue cheese drizzle, delivering a perfect balance of spicy heat and cool tanginess. Ideal for game day or casual gatherings, they are quick to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb cooked chicken breast, shredded (rotisserie chicken works well)
  • ½ cup buffalo wing sauce (Frank’s RedHot recommended)
  • 12 slider buns (soft, mini sandwich rolls)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • ½ cup blue cheese crumbles
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (vegan mayo optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional add-ins: thinly sliced celery, pickled jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss shredded cooked chicken with ½ cup buffalo wing sauce until evenly coated.
  3. Slice slider buns horizontally without separating completely. Arrange bottom halves evenly in the baking dish.
  4. Layer buffalo chicken evenly over the bottom buns.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the chicken.
  6. Place top halves of buns over the cheese layer, pressing down gently.
  7. Brush tops of buns with melted butter (optionally mixed with garlic powder).
  8. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5-7 minutes to brown tops.
  9. While baking, whisk together blue cheese crumbles, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until creamy but slightly chunky.
  10. Remove sliders from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  11. Drizzle blue cheese sauce over sliders before serving or serve on the side. Garnish with chopped parsley or optional celery slices.

Notes

Brush buns with melted butter for golden tops. Tent with foil while baking to keep sliders moist, then remove foil to brown. Adjust buffalo sauce amount to control spiciness and sogginess. Whisk blue cheese drizzle until creamy but still chunky; thin with milk or lemon juice if needed. Rest sliders 5 minutes after baking to keep filling intact. Sliders can be assembled ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking, adding extra baking time.
