A quick and easy Halloween charcuterie board that combines nostalgic candy corn with savory cheeses, meats, and crackers. Perfect for parties, movie marathons, or trick-or-treat gatherings, this board comes together in just 15 minutes and looks impressive with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, sliced into cubes or triangles
  • 6 ounces smoked gouda, sliced
  • 1 small wheel brie (about 8 ounces)
  • 6 ounces pepper jack cheese, sliced into thin strips or small cubes
  • 4 ounces salami, thinly sliced
  • 3 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup chocolate-covered pretzels
  • 1 cup marshmallows (ghost-shaped if available)
  • 1 cup wheat crackers
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup baguette slices, toasted lightly
  • 1 cup red grapes, washed and separated into small clusters
  • ½ cup dried apricots
  • ½ cup black olives (kalamata or castelvetrano)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • Plastic spider rings (optional)
  • Edible eyes (optional)
  • Orange and black sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your board or platter: Start with a clean, dry surface. Place small bowls or ramekins on the board to hold loose items like olives and candy corn. Position them slightly off-center.
  2. Place the cheese: Arrange the cheese wedges and cubes around the board, leaving space between them. Place the brie wheel in a prominent position. Cut the cheddar into cubes and arrange in a small cluster. Slice the smoked gouda into thin triangles and fan them out. Cut the pepper jack into small strips and place near the cheddar.
  3. Add the meats: Fold the salami slices into quarters and arrange in a small pile near one of the cheeses. Drape the prosciutto slices loosely, letting them form gentle waves.
  4. Arrange the crackers and bread: Scatter the wheat crackers around the board, placing some near each cheese variety. Stand the pretzel sticks upright in small clusters. Arrange baguette slices in a neat row or fan pattern near the brie.
  5. Add the fruits and accents: Place grape clusters in a couple of spots around the board. Tuck dried apricots near the cheddar. Scatter black olives in their small bowl or directly on the board.
  6. Add the candy and sweet elements: Pour candy corn into a small bowl or arrange in a pile directly on the board. Place chocolate-covered pretzels in another small bowl or scatter near the candy corn. Arrange marshmallows in a small cluster.
  7. Add the spooky decorations: Tuck plastic spider rings around the board. Place edible eyes on marshmallows or cheese cubes if using. Sprinkle orange and black sprinkles over the candy corn. Add fresh rosemary sprigs in a couple of spots.
  8. Final adjustments: Step back and look at your board. Fill in any empty spots with extra crackers or fruit. Ensure colors are balanced. Adjust any items that look cluttered or crowded.

Notes

Assemble the board no more than an hour before serving to keep crackers crisp and cheese fresh. Take cheese out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before serving for best flavor and texture. Keep candy corn in a separate bowl to prevent it from transferring waxy texture to other foods. For a crowd, have extra ingredients ready for refills.
